Avodaco oil is a multi-purpose oil most commonly used for culinary purposes. It contains high levels of Vitamin E - important to vision as well as the health of the brain and skin - and monounsaturated fats - which help in improving cholesterol levels. Refined avocado oil is made by filtering the virgin oil to remove small particles of pulp and other impurities. This process also removes the green colour, leaving it a light yellow. It also removes much of the flavour and aroma of the oil making it excellent for use within cosmetics annd personal care products aiding in the repair of damaged skin.

Avocado Oil is excellent for protecting the skin from moisture loss. It was characterized in our sensory profile study of vegetable oils. It is more easily absorbed by the skin than many other cosmetic oils. Indeed
this is partly due to its content of palmitoleic acid
which is relatively rare in vegetable oils. It reveals a very high monounsaturated fatty acid level
indicating its high content of omega 7 (C161 Palmitoleic Acid) and omega 9 (C181 Oleic Acid). This oil is also appreciated for its rich unsaponifiable fraction (3-10%) that contains sterols
phytosterols and different vitamins such as tocopherols or carotenoids.
